When we (Nick and Dee) batted the idea around of opening a store in Fernie, the only thing we knew for sure was that it was going to be called Coal Town. We knew we wanted to carry quality goods that would appeal to most but more importantly we wanted to build a store based on the ideal that is Fernie. At it’s core Fernie is an authentic, blue collar, industry based town built by creative, honest, hardworking people. This is what sets Fernie apart. This is why we live here. Coal town Goods aims to be an extension of that. A community minded store that celebrates our diversity and honors the hard work and heart of the crafters, the makers, the artists, the funny people, the talented guys and gals that create the unique goods that fill our shelves.
